Cat Depot is hosting the Florida SARC Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering Class!
This class is being offered FREE of charge!

This Awareness Level class will give you the knowledge you need to work in an emergency animal shelter. The Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class is certified by the Florida Department of Emergency Management and is required to respond in Florida to help companion animals during a disaster.

These courses are self-study online courses and are free of charge.
It is strongly recommended that each volunteer complete 10 hours working with dogs and 10 hours working with cats in either a shelter environment or similar situation or in a veterinary practice.
All volunteers must also have a current Tetanus Vaccination within the past 10 years, within 5 years is preferable. It is also recommended that you receive vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Rabies.
Operations and Technician level responders will require additional FEMA courses as well as certain HazMat trainings. Contact our Training Department for more information.
