Cat Care Giver and Handyman

Do you have experience as a handyman AND a passion for cats? Do your friends think you’re a clean freak? If so, you could be the next valued team member of a fast paced, progressive, free roaming cat rescue and adoption center. We are currently seeking a positive, detailed, and attentive individual to join Cat Depot’s Cat Care team.

Primary responsibilities include daily, thorough sanitation of all cat areas, laundry, dishes, cleaning and mopping of floors, and cleaning and maintaining all public areas throughout Cat Depot, according to policies and procedures. Should be able to make general building repairs and fix stuff!

Outstanding powers of observation are required as you are the eyes and ears for what is going on with the adoptable cats daily. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for 100 feet; bend and reach; work with a variety of cleaning agents, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is needed. Help with special events, building maintenance, pick-ups and deliveries of heavy supplies and emergency cat rescues, are part of this position. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and current vehicle insurance coverage. No smokers please, as we are a non-smoking facility and property. Competitive wage and health benefits. Events & Development Manager

Cat Depot, a feline-only rescue, adoption and education center in beautiful Sarasota, FL is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic development and event planning professional to provide leadership and administrative support in the Communications Department. Position includes but is not limited to:

* Managing fundraising initiatives
* Planning and implementation of special events to meet budgetary goals
* Sourcing and solidifying prospects for both individual and corporate sponsorships
* Media relations

Cross training with positions in the Communications Department, such as donor correspondence and donor database expected. Candidate must have excellent oral and written skills including creative writing for newsletters, blogs, e-blasts, press releases, and donor solicitations. Excellent proofreading skills, ability to work independently and be proactive, be innovative and have the ability to think "outside the box" are a must.

Volunteer & Education Manager

Cat Depot, a feline rescue, adoption, education, and resource center located in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Volunteer and Education Manager to lead and grow both program areas.

Position includes (but is not limited to): developing and maintaining volunteer guidelines, materials, and procedures; conducting the recruitment, orientation, and training of all volunteers; maintaining volunteer records and databases; continuing the growth of pre-existing educational and community programs such as Critter Camp and Namastray Yoga; developing and implementing new and innovative education offerings such as workshops, lectures, and public trainings; participating in community outreach opportunities to support Cat Depot’s mission.

Candidate must have previous paid experience in the managing, training, and recruitment of volunteers as well as curriculum and program development and implementation. A valid driver’s license, car insurance, and college degree are required. Non-profit, human resources experience and/or working in an animal related field is a plus.
