Customer Service Specialist

Cat Depot, a rescue, adoption, education, and resource center located in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Customer Service Specialist to provide support in the Supply & Gift Store. The Customer Service Specialist is the first person to greet customers, adopters and visitors, and the last person to wish our clientele a good day, and ask them to return. The position requires an enthusiastic, professional individual, who can identify customers, assess their needs and wants, and help them purchase products for their cat(s), friends, and for themselves. They should love and understand cats, and find motivation in the fact that retail sales are used to help rescue and rehome the cats and kittens entrusted to our care. Duties for this position include but are not limited to general reception, phone call management, and retail sales. The Customer Service Specialist will maintain a positive, energetic, and cheerful attitude, working both individually and as a critical team member to provide consistent excellence in customer service, to increase Cat Depot’s growth through maximum sales. The Customer Service Specialist will comply with and promote Cat Depot’s mission, rules, and standards of feline care. 

Requirements

  • Experience working in retail sales and reception with ability to multi-task in a very busy atmosphere
  • Exceptional customer service, communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Some college and previous cat experience strongly preferred
  • Professional, well-groomed appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Ability to work easily with all kinds of personalities
  • Flexibility to work during normal operating hours, including all weekends and have the ability to meet all schedule requirements
  • Ability to bend down, squat, and to pick up merchandise located at ground level to assist customers
  • Ability to operate a computer and cash register/P.O.S. efficiently as well as accurately handle money and pass a background check
  • Ability to reach across counters, grasping, pulling, pushing all sizes of merchandise to wrap customer purchases, stand and walk for the majority of work shift, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Client Relations Specialist / Reception

This position is the face and voice of the clinic and is responsible for providing professional, calm, high quality care for a diverse clientele in a fast-paced environment. Veterinary Technician (Full-Time)

Cat Care Giver

Do you have a passion for animals? Do your friends think you’re a clean freak?  If so, you could be the next valued team member of a fast paced, progressive, free roaming cat rescue and adoption center. We are currently seeking a positive, passionate, and attentive individual to join Cat Depot’s Cat Care team.

Primary responsibilities include daily, thorough sanitation of all cat areas, laundry, dishes, cleaning and mopping of floors, and cleaning and maintaining all public areas throughout Cat Depot, according to policies and procedures. Outstanding powers of observation are required as you are the eyes and ears for what is going on with the adoptable cats daily. 

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for 100 feet; bend and reach; work with a variety of cleaning agents, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is needed. Help with special events, building maintenance, pick-ups and deliveries of heavy supplies and emergency cat rescues, are part of this position. 

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and current vehicle insurance coverage. High school degree or equivalent required. No smokers please, as we are a non-smoking facility and property. Competitive wage and health benefits. Veterinarian

Fabulous veterinarian needed to join Cat Depot’s, atypical, limited access rescue, adoption, education and resource center located in culturally rich, outdoor sports oriented Sarasota, Florida, minutes from sparkling beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.  As a highly skilled, cat savvy Veterinarian, you will provide cutting-edge medicine, forward thinking leadership, innovation, and best practices in our beautifully appointed 11,000+ square foot facility for both our shelter medical, and adjacent full-service affordable care clinic. Fully equipped facilities, including dental radiography, digital x-ray, laser and ultrasound. Our compassionate team is deeply committed to helping cats live a better, healthier, life of quality.

Requirements:

  • Experienced veterinarian with excellent client relationship skills
  • Passion for cats with strong understanding of feline behavior and medicine.
  • Strong surgery, dentistry skills, internal medicine, and critical care skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in disease control, preferably in a shelter environment.
  • Interest and ability to participate in occasional rescue work.
  • Ability to handle the large volume, fast paced, multi-task environment of a growing and respected free-roaming shelter and clinic.
  • Ability to work some weekend hours, and willingness to be flexible to the changing needs of our community and operation.  
  • Professionalism at all times, including an enthusiastic, positive, even keeled demeanor.
  • Affiliation with AAHA, AAFP, HSUS, Best Friends or ASPCA initiatives a plus.
