Trimming a Cat's Nails - a How-To Video
Keep your favorite friend's nails neat and trim
How to Safely Give Your Feline Friend a "Paw"dicure
Many people shy away from trimming their cats' nails, but it is a very simple process if you follow these step-by-step instructions and video.
Step 1: Pick up kitty's foot. Please note that your cat has 5 nails on each front paw and 4 on each back paw.
Step 2: Gently push on the cat's paw pads to push out the cat's toes.
Step 3: Snip the tip of each nail (don't forget the side toes). Snip only the white part of the nail. Stay away from the pink part (called the quick). That is the cat's blood vessel and will bleed if clipped.
If you play with your cat's feet often, she will get used to having her feet touched and nail trims will be a breeze!
