Adult Volunteer Program - 18 Years & Older

We are currently recruiting for the following positions, and ask that volunteers applying are 18 years or older. Thank you for your support of Cat Depot!

 

Available Positions


Gift Shop / Front Desk

Serve as the first point of contact with Cat Depot visitors. Volunteers assist our guests from purchasing merchandise to fielding questions and answering telephones. This is a challenging, yet rewarding position, vital for our daily operations.

Shift Times: Weekdays: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or 3 to 7 p.m.

Commitment: 1 day a week for a minimum of 3 months

 

Adoption Assistants

Work side-by-side with our adoption team to find homes for our deserving felines. Volunteers assist from start to finish in the adoption process, from the application to going over the cat's records. This rewarding position helps our cats find their forever homes.

Shift Times: Weekdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or 3 to 7 p.m., Weekends 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or 2 - 5 p.m.

Commitment: 1 day a week for a minimum of 6 months

 

Cat Care

Volunteers perform a variety of tasks, such as cleaning cat cages and litter boxes, washing dishes, and doing laundry. Specially trained volunteers partnered with staff can assist with feeding the cats. 

Shift Times: Daily 8 o 11 a.m.

Commitment: 1 day a week for a minimum of 3 months

 

Ambassadors

Ambassadors perform a variety of duties, including welcoming guests, directing potential adopters to the adoption floor, and providing guests with tours, information and education about Cat Depot and our services.

Shift Times: 2 hour blocks, based on availability

Commitment: 2 days a month for a minimum of 6 months

 

Cat Socializer

Volunteers spend 50% of their time working with the cats most in need of attention, listed on the socializer board. The other 50% of the time, socialize with all the other cats who call Cat Depot their temporary home. 

Shift Times: 1 hour blocks based on availability

Commitment: 1 day a week for a minimum of 3 months

 

Outreach Assistants

Volunteers have opportunities to help at outreach events, including informational table displays at places like PetSmart and Whole Foods. Educational materials are provided by Cat Depot. Any additional display items or handout material must be approved prior to the event.

Shift Times: Primarily weekends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. based on event

Commitment: 1 weekend day a week for a minimum of 3 months
