High-School Volunteer Program - 16-18 years 


Thank you for your interest in serving Cat Depot as a High School Volunteer. We recently restructured this program and now recruit for this position twice a year. We ask that you attend an information session to learn about the program, our requirements, and commitment levels before going through an interview. Thank you for your support of Cat Depot!

Information sessions are limited to 20 people and will be held on:

  • Socialize the cats and help increase their chance of finding a home

    Thursday, November 16, 2017, 6 PM to 7 PM
     
  • Thursday, April 26, 2018, 6 PM to 7 PM
     

To RSVP for a slot at the information session, please e-mail volunteer@catdepot.org with the session date you want to attend, your name, and age.
 

As a High School Volunteer, we require a minimum commitment of 4 regular one-hour shifts per month for at least 6 months. Volunteer shifts are offered 7 days a week based on availability, from 11 AM to 7 PM Monday through Friday and 11 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday.
 

Some of the areas you can volunteer as a High School volunteer are:

  • Cat Socializing
  • Costume Character Appearances
  • Outreach table at:
    - Petsmart Bradenton
    - Whole Foods Sarasota
    - Miscellaneous events throughout the year
  • Fostering (after two months of volunteering)
  • Cat Care (if 18 years old)

Ready to RSVP for an Information Session?

To RSVP for a slot at the information session, please e-mail volunteer@catdepot.org with the session date you would like to attend along with your name and age. If you are interested in continuing the application process after the information session, an in-person interview will be scheduled. If selected to be a volunteer, you will be scheduled for an orientation and can start your training!
