Cat Depot strives to make your volunteer experience safe and rewarding. It is our goal to provide our volunteers with the knowledge, training, and incentive to donate their time and services to our organization.
Steps to Becoming a Cat Depot Volunteer:
1) Register online for an upcoming Volunteer Orientation Session. Or call Corey Roscoe at 941-366-2404.
2) Complete and submit a volunteer application. Bring your application with you to Volunteer Orientation. Please do not return completed applications prior to attending orientation.
3) Attend all required trainings. Cat Depot asks that you understand and follow all policies and procedures, including but not limited to those reviewed in the Volunteer Policies and at volunteer trainings.
Application - A completed application is necessary to join our volunteer program. You can download (PDF) and print applications and submit at the Volunteer Information Session. Please do not return completed applications prior to attending orientation.
Orientation - The first step in joining our volunteer program is to attend a Volunteer Information Session (VIS). The VIS is a general orientation that will prepare you for volunteer experience. We provide an overview of Cat Depot, a guided tour of the facility, and a chance to learn more about the volunteer opportunities available.
Training - We provide department-specific training to prepare you for your assignment(s) as we want you to be safe and effective in your volunteer role. Additional support is provided throughout your volunteer experience. Volunteer Information Sessions (VIS) and training dates can be found on the Calendar of Events.
