Tater Tot, Meow Mayor

Tater Tot, adoptable cat at Cat DepotHey Everyone!

I've been bouncing off the walls with excitement, because June 1st is my 8th birthday! I chased my tail to keep busy, but ended up pushing the papers off the desk. Then, the little red dot appeared, so I chased it out into the hallway. I lost track of it soon after, but I knew I'd find it again, eventually.

Since I was already out and about, I figured I'd patrol the hallway to make sure the humans were safe. And to see if they were doing anything interesting, of course. The red dot made a reappearance near the break room and I chased it down the hall to the bathroom where I lost it again.

I thought, maybe I'll catch it for my birthday, and finally find out what it tastes like.

No time for that: something even more exciting happened. There was a visitor I really liked - and who really liked me!

I bet you can guess what birthday wish a shelter cat would have? That's right: a home. It's coming true. I have to pack now, because I'm going home. I have to give instructions to the other kitties, and make sure I get my favorite toy, and I'm just so excited!

Love, Tater Tot.

Tater Talks, Day 1

Good Morning Internet!

You may have noticed that I am not Mavis.

Our Meow Mayor got adopted on Saturday. It was amazing: a family with a ten-year-old son came in to visit, and he and Mavis clicked immediately. He was like the Mavis whisperer, getting her to jump here and there with just a flick of her feather wand.

She was thrilled to have a new playmate, and I think he was, too.

In the last four days, we've been campaigning for a new Mayor. Since I spent a few weeks away from Cat Depot I'm not officially one of the longest residents, but I ran for Mayor anyway. Boy was I surprised when I got elected!

I am very thankful that my fellow kitties put their trust in me, and I promise I'll do my best in this position.

Love, Tater Tot.
